Location: Benfleet, Essex
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-time, Term-Time Only

A forward-thinking secondary school in Benfleet is seeking a committed and proactive Cover Supervisor to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for recent graduates, aspiring teachers, or those with experience in childcare who are looking to take the next step in their career in education.

About the Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-set lessons across various subjects in the absence of teaching staff. You will supervise whole classes, maintain order, and ensure that students stay on task with their learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver lessons prepared by teaching staff across a range of subjects

  • Manage the classroom environment and ensure students remain focused and engaged

  • Provide support where needed and promote a positive learning atmosphere

  • Uphold school policies on behaviour and safeguarding

  • Report back on student engagement and any issues to relevant staff

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • A degree in any subject (required)

  • A strong interest in working with young people

  • Experience in childcare, tutoring, youth work or similar (desirable)

  • A desire to pursue a career in teaching or education

  • Excellent communication skills, confidence, and resilience

  • A positive attitude, initiative, and a strong work ethic
