Position: Cover Supervisor
Location: SE9
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Contract Type: Full-time/Part-time, Temporary/Permanent options available

About the Role:

Teaching Personnel is seeking a proactive and adaptable Cover Supervisor to work across secondary schools in the SE9 postcode area. As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee classroom lessons in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students remain engaged and on task with pre-set work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervising classes during teacher absences, maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Delivering pre-prepared lessons and ensuring students complete assigned tasks.
  • Providing brief feedback to teachers on lesson progress and student behaviour.
  • Supporting students with their learning where required.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, youth work, TA experience).
  • Confidence managing classroom behaviour.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Flexibility to work across different subjects and year groups.
  • A proactive and resilient attitude.
