Job summary

Watford Grammar School for Boys in Watford is seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join our team. The role runs 8:25am–3:15pm, Monday to Friday, term-time only, covering lessons during short-term staff absence and supervising students as they complete tasks set by teachers.

The ideal candidate will have GCSE English and Maths (4/C+), experience in major sports and a commitment to mid-week and Saturday fixtures. An enthusiastic, organised individual who commands respect is essential.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above.
• Experience in rugby, hockey or cricket.
• Commitment to extra-curricular, mid-week and Saturday fixtures.
• Ability to command respect from students.

Responsibilities

• Cover lessons during short-term staff absence.
• Supervise the class while they complete tasks set by the teacher.
• Hours include assisting in the teaching of Games and extra-curricular sports programmes.
• Help with other administrative or support staff tasks as directed by the Cover Manager.
• Discharge a duty of care to all students in the school.

• Help with other administrative or support staff tasks, as directed by the Cover Manager

The ideal candidate

• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above, or equivalent
• Experience in one of our major sports: rugby, hockey or cricket
• A commitment to extra-curricular, mid-week and Saturday fixtures is essential
• An enthusiastic and organised individual with an ability to command respect from students
• Experience working with students with a range of abilities is desirable but not essential.
