As a successful Lewisham Secondary School in the heart of Lewisham, we are looking for confident, professional and dedicated people to work as Cover Supervisors in our school to provide short-term and daily cover for our teachers.
The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will work in our secondary school covering classes and ensuring students are working on tasks whilst teachers are absent or engaged in other activities and meetings. This is a key role within secondary schools, and almost every secondary school will engage cover supervisors to allow teachers to focus on other responsibilities.
Cover Supervisors are required for the full school day – 8.30am to 3.45pm (approx.).
What do I need to be a Cover Supervisor?
You do not need any formal qualifications to be a Cover Supervisor, but we do require you to have had some experience working with 11 – 18-year-olds. Experienced Cover Supervisors are encouraged to apply!
You will need an Enhanced DBS certificate to work with children and 2 references covering the past two years. If you don’t have a DBS, we can assist you in applying for one from the UK Disclosure and Barring Service.
Most importantly, you need a confident, positive, and professional approach to working with young people.
