Job summary

Outwood Academy Ormesby, part of Outwood Grange Academies Trust, seeks a Cover Supervisor to support learning in the absence of teachers. Based in Middlesbrough, the role runs 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:00am–3:00pm, term time plus 5 days, with a salary of £21,222.83 to £22,208.69.

You will supervise classes, implement work programmes, and maintain a constructive environment. Strong communication, confidentiality, and IT skills (Microsoft Office) are essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent classroom management skills.
• Ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences.
• Experience in a school environment desirable.
• Proficient with ICT packages including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Primary duty is supervising whole classes during short-term teacher absence and implementing pre-set work programmes.
• Assist in preparing the environment and materials and respond to student questions about the set work.
• Supervise entry/departure, record and report lesson attendance, and assist with exam invigilation.
