Job Title: Cover Supervisor (CS)
Location: Sheffield
Salary Range: £94 to £115 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Full-time/Part-time

GSL Education are looking to recruit a proactive and reliable Cover Supervisor to support schools in Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about education and want to gain classroom experience before progressing into teaching or educational support careers.

Role Overview:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task with their learning. You will deliver pre-set work, manage classroom behaviour, and promote a positive and focused learning environment.

Your Responsibilities as a CS:

• Deliver pre-prepared lessons across various subjects to pupils.
• Ensure students stay engaged, focused, and respectful in the absence of their teacher.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies.
• Report any issues or concerns to senior leadership or teaching staff.
• Support students where appropriate and maintain a calm, safe environment.

Requirements for a CS:

• Experience working with young people or in a school environment is desirable.
• Strong classroom presence and confidence in managing behaviour.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced setting.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
• A CV covering the last 10 years with any gaps clearly explained.
