Job Title: Cover Supervisor (CS)
Location: Rotherham
Pay Rate: GBP90 GBP110 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are currently recruiting for a proactive and dependable Cover Supervisor to work in schools across Rotherham. This is a fantastic opportunity for aspiring teachers, graduates, or individuals with classroom experience to support learning and gain valuable insight into school life.

Role Overview:
As a Cover Supervisor (CS), you will be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons to students in the absence of the regular class teacher. You will manage the classroom, maintain a positive learning environment, and ensure pupils remain on task with their work.

Responsibilities as a Cover Supervisor:

• Supervise whole classes during teacher absences.
• Distribute and explain the pre-set work provided by teaching staff.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
• Provide brief feedback to teaching staff on pupil behaviour and progress.
• Assist with general classroom duties when not covering lessons.

Requirements for the Cover Supervisor role:

• Previous experience working with pupils is desirable.
• Strong classroom presence and behaviour management skills.
• Confident, flexible, and calm under pressure.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• A genuine interest in education and supporting young people.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
• A full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any gaps in employment in the last 10 years.
