GSL Education are currently recruiting an enthusiastic and confident Cover Supervisor to work in a supportive school in Thurnscoe. This is an ideal role for aspiring teachers, graduates, or experienced classroom supervisors looking to gain valuable experience in a school environment.

Role Overview:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise lessons across a range of subjects in the absence of the regular class teacher. You’ll ensure pupils remain on task with the work set, manage classroom behaviour effectively, and provide general support across the school when needed.

Responsibilities as a Cover Supervisor:

• Deliver pre-set lesson plans in the teacher’s absence.
• Maintain classroom order and ensure students remain engaged in learning.
• Manage behaviour in line with school policies.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil engagement and progress.
• Supervise students during break or lunch duties as required.

Requirements for Cover Supervisor:

• Previous experience working in a school setting is desirable.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Ability to engage and motivate students across different year groups.
• A genuine interest in education and working with young people.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
• A full, up-to-date CV with references and explanation of any employment gaps.
