Cover Supervisor (casual hours)
The role entails providing academic teaching cover for lessons across all subjects at KS3 and KS4. The cover supervisor will supervise pupils in making good progress to complete their work during lessons where the class teacher is absent.
The successful candidate will be able to: deliver work that has been set, in accordance with the teacher’s instructions; manage the behaviour of pupils whilst they undertake work, motivating them to work effectively and ensuring a constructive learning environment; circulate the class and respond to questions and requests for help from pupils; provide feedback to the teacher on the progress of the group.
This is a casual hours contract and you will be contacted a week in advance to offer working day(s) in the following week, based on the school’s cover requirements. We are a 6 day a week school, with lessons occurring between 0900 and 1700 Monday to Friday, and 0900 to 1210 Saturday mornings. We are able to offer cover for part or full days and we welcome applications from candidates who can offer a spectrum of availability, from those who would be available all days of the week, to those who could be available only on certain days / portions of days.
