We are seeking numerous Cover Supervisors to meet ongoing regional demands. These roles often involve block bookings to cover absences, with opportunities for professional development through free training.

What is cover supervision?

Cover supervision involves overseeing students during a teacher’s short-term absence, where students follow pre-prepared exercises. No active teaching occurs. Responsibilities include:

• Supervising set work according to lesson plans and resources provided.
• Managing student behaviour per school policies.
• Responding to student questions.
• Handling emergencies in line with school procedures.
• Collecting and returning completed work.
• Reporting issues encountered during lessons.

Requirements:

• Own transport to access multiple schools and availability to respond to early morning requests for short-notice absences. Opportunities may lead to ongoing positions. Many workers transition to full-time roles.
• Strong behaviour management skills, a friendly and outgoing personality, and the ability to handle challenging classes.
• Good written and spoken English, with capacity to develop curriculum knowledge, excellent communication skills, and computer literacy.
• Flexibility to work full-time, ideally full school days (8:30-15:30), with consideration of your availability and travel limits.
• UK-based experience as a Cover Supervisor is essential for immediate placement. Relevant experience as a Teaching Assistant may also qualify for training opportunities.
