We have schools in Witham that are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated cover supervisor to join their welcoming team. Whether you're an aspiring teacher, a recent graduate, or someone with experience working with young people, this role will give you invaluable classroom experience while making a difference in students' education.

The Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing classes of students in the absence of their regular teacher, ensuring that the students remain on task and focused while following pre-prepared lesson plans. You will play an important role in maintaining classroom discipline and supporting students' learning needs, ensuring they are engaged in their studies in a productive and positive manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and manage students during lessons in the absence of the regular teacher.
  • Ensure that students follow instructions and engage with the lesson material.
  • Maintain classroom discipline and manage behaviour in accordance with school policies.
  • Provide support to students with additional learning needs.
  • Report any issues or concerns regarding students' behaviour or progress to the relevant teaching staff.
  • Assist with administrative duties such as taking registers and assisting with resources.
  • Inspire the students to reach their full potential.
Key Skills and Qualifications:

We are looking for someone who is confident, reliable, and passionate about supporting young people. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people ideally in an educational or supportive environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving.
