TeacherActive is working closely with a well-regarded secondary school in Bristol to recruit a reliable and confident Cover Supervisor to start immediately.

This is a long-term position within a supportive school environment. The successful Cover Supervisor will join a committed team of staff who are passionate about maintaining a positive and inclusive learning space for all pupils. Strong behavioural management is a key requirement for this role, as you will be responsible for keeping students engaged and focused throughout the school day.

The Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be delivering pre-set lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher. Your role is to ensure the smooth running of the class, manage behaviour effectively, and keep pupils on task. While you won’t need to plan or mark work, you’ll be expected to maintain a positive classroom atmosphere and manage challenging situations with confidence.

This is an excellent stepping stone for those new to teaching—Early Careers Teachers are encouraged to apply if they are looking to build confidence and classroom management skills.

What We’re Looking For:

A CACHE Level 2/3 qualification or at least 6 months of recent classroom-based experience

Strong behavioural management skills are essential

Confident delivering lessons across different subjects and year groups (ages 11–16)

Professional, dependable, and able to form positive relationships with students and staff

Available to start immediately and commit to a long-term role
