Duties as a Cover Supervisor:

• Supervise classes during the short-term absence of the regular teacher

• Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans to students across a range of subjects

• Manage classroom behaviour and ensure students remain on task

• Provide support to students where necessary, without delivering new content

• Record attendance and report any concerns or incidents to senior staff

• Promote a calm, focused and respectful learning environment

Ideal Cover Supervisor:

• Has experience working with secondary-age pupils (desirable but not essential)

• Is confident with classroom and behaviour management

• Is adaptable and able to cover a variety of subjects

• Has strong communication and interpersonal skills as a Cover Supervisor.

• Is reliable, punctual, and professional

• Holds a degree or relevant qualifications (advantageous)

• Has an Enhanced DBS or is willing to obtain one
