Cover Supervisor - Wakefield - £80-£100 per day

Reeson Education is supporting a large mainstream secondary school in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, which requires an enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join their team from September.

The Role:

Cover Supervisor - Wakefield

Cover Supervisors are responsible for managing groups of around 30 students independently, delivering set work to a high standard, and addressing students' questions regarding the tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide cover for registration.
2. Deliver lessons with limited preparation time, sometimes at short notice, maintaining high standards.
3. Create a positive learning environment, adhering to classroom standards and behaviour policies.
4. Support students' self-esteem through positive interactions, praise, and encouragement.
5. Assist in developing and implementing SEN support plans.

Person Specification:

Candidates should have:

1. A degree or be an aspiring teacher.
2. Interest in and knowledge of autism.
3. Experience managing distressed behaviours.
4. The ability to solve problems quickly and remain calm.
5. Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
