Job description

Bricknell Primary School is looking to appoint two experienced Cover Supervisors to start as soon as possible to provide cover across the school in the absence of teaching staff. This is a fixed-term appointment for 1 year in the first instance.

The candidate must have experience working across the primary phase and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders. The school requires the candidate to be flexible, creative, and have a sound knowledge of behaviour management strategies, including responding at an early level of difficulty. The candidate should work well in an established team, reflecting daily to modify and adapt practice according to pupils’ needs. This opportunity is valuable for an ECT to gain experience teaching in an outstanding school environment.

Salary: Grade 6 Point 14 (£28,264) - Point 19 (£31,067), pro rata for 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday during term time plus 5 additional training days (39 weeks per year).

The successful, well-qualified candidate will:

  1. Have experience working in a range of year groups across the primary phase.
  2. Have high expectations of pupils' achievement.
  3. Have a solid understanding and experience of working with children with SEND.
  4. Have successful experience undertaking classroom supervision.
  5. Possess good communication skills with pupils and staff.
  6. Be willing to undertake CPD.
  7. Be a team player with a positive outlook.
  8. Be driven by the needs of pupils.
  9. Have the ability to work in partnership with pupils, parents, staff, and governors.

Ofsted judged Bricknell Primary School to be an "Outstanding" school in March 2025.
