This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to gain classroom experience, particularly for those considering a future career in teaching or education support. Beginning September 2025

Duties as a Cover Supervisor:

• Supervising students in the absence of their regular teacher

• Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions

• Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring a positive learning environment

• Responding to student questions related to the work set, promoting engagement

• Recording attendance and reporting back to relevant staff

• Supporting students in staying on task and completing assigned work

• Assisting with general administrative or pastoral duties when not covering lessons

Ideal Cover Supervisor:

• Has experience working with young people, ideally in an educational setting

• Is confident managing behaviour in a classroom environment

• Demonstrates good communication and interpersonal skills as a Cover Supervisor.

• Is adaptable, organised and able to follow instructions

• Remains calm under pressure and can work independently or as part of a team

• Holds a minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths – further qualifications are an advantage
