Role: Cover Supervisor

Start: Ongoing/Immediate Start Available

Contract: Flexible Supply (full time or part time)

Pay: £115 - £135 per day (depending on qualifications and experience)

We’re looking for Cover Supervisors to work across a range of specialist SEN schools in Taunton and nearby areas. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop your skills and be part of inclusive learning environments where every child matters.

About The Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll step in to deliver pre-prepared lessons and ensure continuity of learning in the absence of teaching staff. You’ll provide classroom management, build rapport with students and support the diverse needs of pupils with a range of additional needs including autism (ASD), social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges, communication difficulties and more.

You will:

  • Supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absences
  • Create a calm, safe and positive classroom environment
  • Support the individual needs of SEN learners with empathy and flexibility
  • Liaise with teaching assistants and school staff to ensure consistency
  • Be a positive role model who promotes independence and engagement

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

  • Previous experience in education, youth work or care
  • Confidence in managing behaviour and leading a class
  • A passion for working with young people with SEn
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Resilience, patience and a proactive attitude
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
