Are you passionate about supporting the education and development of young people? Protocol Education is working with vibrant and inclusive secondary schools and seeking new dedicated Cover Supervisors to join their teams. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the classroom, supporting students aged 11-16 in a dynamic learning environment.

About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will step in to manage classrooms during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring students remain engaged with pre-set work and maintaining a positive and productive atmosphere. This is an unqualified position, meaning no formal teaching qualification is required – we’re looking for enthusiasm, resilience, and the ability to connect with young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise classes across a range of subjects, delivering pre-prepared lessons.
  2. Manage student behaviour in line with school policies to create a safe and focused environment.
  3. Support students in completing tasks and answering basic queries.
  4. Work collaboratively with teaching staff and contribute to the wider school community.
  5. Provide feedback to teachers on student progress and behaviour during cover lessons.

Who We’re Looking For:
While this is an unqualified role and no teaching qualification is necessary, we’d love to hear from candidates who bring:

  1. Previous experience working with children or young people (preferably in an educational setting, such as a school, youth group, or tutoring environment).
  2. Confidence in managing groups and maintaining a calm, authoritative presence.
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students and staff.
  4. Adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  5. A passion for education and supporting student success.

Experience in a school setting is a bonus, but not essential – we value transferable skills and a willingness to learn!

What We Offer You:

  1. Competitive pay rates through PAYE—because your talent deserves to be rewarded.
  2. A flexible work-life balance that fits around your commitments—you’re in control.
