Cover Supervisor - Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire

A secondary school opportunity for confident education professionals who can manage classrooms and maintain learning. Tradewind-partnered secondary school seeks a reliable and confident Cover Supervisor to supervise classes and support pupils in continuing their planned learning when their permanent teacher is absent.


What You Will Be Doing

The position is focused on maintaining continuity in the classroom. Lesson resources and instructions will be provided, with your responsibility being to ensure pupils understand the work, remain engaged and follow the school's behaviour expectations. You will need to be comfortable taking responsibility for a classroom and managing different groups of pupils throughout the school day. The role would suit an individual with experience in education or youth work who is confident communicating with secondary-aged pupils.



  • Supervising pupils during lessons.

  • Following lesson plans and instructions supplied by teachers.

  • Maintaining classroom routines and expectations.

  • Managing behaviour appropriately and consistently.

  • Encouraging pupils to complete assigned work.

Requirements

Previous experience working with children or young people is essential. The school would particularly welcome applicants who have previously worked as a teacher, tutor, teaching assistant, instructor, youth worker or in another school-based support capacity.
