Smart Education is currently recruiting for Cover Supervisors to work across a variety of secondary schools in the Teesside area. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced education professionals looking to gain classroom experience without the responsibility of planning or marking.

Job requirements:

Degree or higher qualification in a specialist subject (e.g., English, Maths, Science, Humanities, Languages)
Previous experience working with young people (e.g., in schools, coaching, youth work)
Confident classroom presence and strong behaviour management skills
Ability to follow lesson plans and maintain pupil engagement
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A positive, professional, and flexible approach
An enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply)

Role responsibilities:

Supervising students in the absence of the regular class teacher
Delivering pre-set lesson materials and ensuring classroom continuity
Managing behaviour in line with school policies
Providing assistance and support to pupils during lessons
Reporting any issues or feedback to teaching staff or senior leaders
