Trainee Cover Supervisor (Full Time/Temporary)

£28,000 - £43,685 salary is depending on experience and/or qualifications)

The role

Are you passionate about making a difference in education? Are you a recent graduate or a teaching assistant looking to take the next step in your career? We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Cover Teacher to join our team and contribute to the success of secondary schools in Sheffield and surrounding areas.

As a Trainee Cover Teacher, you will be responsible for leading lessons of approximately 30 pupils in the absence of the class teacher. You will cover classes across the full range of secondary school subjects, but don't worry, you are not expected to be a subject specialist in each area. The lesson will always be planned, and this will be provided in advance. It is your role as the Graduate Cover Teacher to facilitate the classes learning, management classroom behaviour, record accurate registers, and provide a handover to the absent teacher. Successful trainee Cover Teacher are adaptable, flexible, motivated, confident, and organised, they have a passion for education and supporting young people.

You will have the opportunity to work in a number of schools across Newark.

Requirements
To be considered for the position of Cover Supervisor, you will:

• Have a willingness to learn.
• A passion for the progress of secondary school pupils.
• Be a natural leader and someone with confidence to lead a lesson in the absence of the class teacher.
• Hold, or be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS, registered to the Update Service
