Cover Supervisors required in a friendly Secondary School in Pulborough

A dynamic and welcoming secondary school in the Pulborough area is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join their team as Cover Supervisors. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within a school environment and make a positive impact on students' educational journeys.

The Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Supervising classes during the short-term absence of the regular teacher.
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively to ensure a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Distributing and overseeing pre-prepared lesson materials and activities set by the subject teacher.
  • Ensuring students remain on task and understand the work they have been set.
  • Responding to students' questions and providing appropriate support.
  • Upholding the school's policies and procedures, particularly those relating to safeguarding and behaviour.
  • Providing feedback to the regular teacher on the progress of the lesson and any issues encountered.

About You:

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have a genuine interest in working with young people (typically aged 11-16).
  • Possess strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students.
  • Are confident, adaptable, and able to use their initiative.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Are reliable, punctual, and professional.
  • Are committed to creating a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Previous experience working in a school or with young people is desirable, but not essential as training will be provided.
  • A good standard of education, including GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent), is typically expected.
