Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire
Salary: £94 - £140 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate or after Easter 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time (Part-time can also be arranged for the right candidate)

Job Title: Cover Supervisor (CS)

GSL Education are looking for an ambitious and confident Cover Supervisor to join a vibrant mainstream secondary school in Portsmouth. This role offers a fantastic chance to gain hands-on classroom experience while inspiring and guiding students in their educational journey.

As a Cover Supervisor (CS), you will be responsible for maintaining a positive learning atmosphere by supervising classes in the absence of teachers. You will ensure students stay engaged with their assigned work, encourage participation, and uphold classroom discipline.

Key Responsibilities Of Cover Supervisor (CS)

• Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers.
• Deliver pre-prepared lessons and ensure students remain engaged and on task.
• Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
• Support students in their learning and aid as needed.
• Monitor and record students’ progress and provide feedback to teachers.
• Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and resources.

Requirements Of Cover Supervisor (CS)

• Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar role is desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

• Have the right to work in the UK.
• Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
• Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Updated Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
