Job Title: Cover Supervisor (CS)
Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire
Salary: £94 – £140 per day (Depending on experience)
Start: Immediate or September 2025
Contract: Full-time

If so,GSL Education are currently seeking a reliable and confident Cover Supervisor to join a vibrant mainstream secondary school inPortsmouth. This is a full-time opportunity, ideal for qualified teachers, graduates, or individuals seeking flexible work in education.

As a Cover Supervisor (CS), you will take charge of the classroom in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring that students remain on task and engaged with the set work. This is a vital support role that keeps the learning environment stable and productive.

KeyResponsibilities:

• Supervise and manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Deliver pre-set work provided by subject teachers across a range of subjects.
• Aid and answer questions where appropriate to support student understanding.
• Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
• Report back to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working with secondary-aged students is highly desirable.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• A flexible, proactive, and professional attitude.
• A degree or equivalent qualification is preferred but not essential.
• Have anupdated CV(covering thelast ten years barring any unexplained gaps) andan enhanced DBSregistered to theUpdate Service(or be willing to apply for one).
