Job description

Do you love teaching but don't want the responsibility of planning and resourcing lessons? Are you looking for a role where you can have a work-life balance but still pursue your passion?

An ‘good’ secondary with excellent resourced provision in Middlesbrough is looking to appoint a confident and experienced cover supervisor to join their growing team.

The headteacher would like to hear from Cover Supervisors that have strong behaviour management and can build a positive rapport with pupils and staff quickly and easily.

The staff at the school pride themselves on being friendly and supportive– making the school feel homely and a real community!

The main cover supervisor duties will include:

  1. Supporting the pupils in their education
  2. Teaching and managing the behaviour of up to 28 pupils during lesson time
  3. Working with teachers to deliver their planning and resources
  4. Supporting the planning and delivery of creative and innovative lessons
  5. Promoting independence with life skills
  6. Providing an outstanding level of safeguarding and pastoral care

The ideal Cover Supervisor will:

  1. Be available for work Monday to Friday
  2. Have experience as a teaching assistant / teacher or be a confident graduate
  3. Be proactive, energetic, kind and caring
  4. Have an enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to go through the process with ourselves)
  5. Have a fully checkable work history
