Cover Supervisor Role at Prospero Teaching

Prospero Teaching is seeking individuals to work as cover supervisors in an Ofsted outstanding school on a full-time or part-time basis. As a cover supervisor, you will monitor the class in the absence of the teacher, including taking the register, handing out tasks, and managing behaviour. Strong behaviour management and SEN experience are desired, but no specific teaching qualifications are required.

We work with both inexperienced and experienced cover supervisors covering diverse year groups from KS3 to KS4 across various subjects. This position is ideal for someone with casual availability or those aspiring to become teachers in the future.

Cover Supervisor Role Responsibilities:

1. Supervising the classroom and managing student behaviour in the teacher's absence
2. Ensuring students are engaged with lesson materials
3. Using individualised approaches to build trust with students
4. Collaborating with and supporting other staff members
5. Assigning and collecting assignments
6. Maintaining organisation for when the class teacher returns
7. Completing the register

Contract Details:

• Location: Ware
• Position: Cover Supervisor
• Start date: September 2024
• Pay rate: GBP 90+ per day
• Hours: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm

Experience, Training, and Qualifications:

• University degree, A Levels, or GCSEs (Math and English above C)
• Previous experience in a UK school preferred
• Experience working with SEN is desirable
• Recent safeguarding and prevent training (within the last year)

Eligibility Requirements:

• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced child barred list DBS registered with the update service or willingness to apply for a new one
• Two professional child-related references covering the last two years
