Job summary

Harris Academy Morden is seeking a resourceful part-time Cover Supervisor to provide classroom cover on Thursdays and Fridays. This role suits someone with prior experience in supervising groups of students aged 11-16 within a secondary school setting.

The position requires a qualification to A Level standard or equivalent, strong organisation and time management, and an ability to implement effective behaviour management strategies while building positive relationships with learners.

Qualifications

• Qualifications to A Level standard or equivalent.
• Knowledge of strategies to recognise and reward efforts and achievements towards self-reliance appropriate to students’ age and development.
• Basic knowledge of SEN and other learning barriers.
• Strong organisation and time management skills.
• Relevant experience supervising groups of children aged 11-16.
• Previous school or comparable large organisation experience.
• Understanding of a secondary school environment.
• Ability to provide classroom cover in the absence of the class teacher within agreed parameters.
• Ability to implement agreed behaviour management strategies.
• Ability to use language and other communication skills that students understand.
• Ability to establish positive relationships with students and empathise with their needs.
• Ability to demonstrate active listening skills.
• Ability to provide levels of individual attention and help with learning tasks as appropriate.

Job description

We are looking to appoint a resourceful part-time Cover Supervisor at Harris Academy Morden to provide classroom cover in the absence of teachers on a Thursday and Friday. This role will likely suit you if you have previous experience in a similar role, providing cover within an educational establishment.

The actual salary for this role will be £10,755.12-£11,390.74 (15 hours per week - Thursday and Friday only - 38 weeks per year) .
