Job summary

Education World Ltd. is seeking a Cover Supervisor for secondary schools in Gateshead. The role offers both full-time and part-time/casual hours, with ongoing recruitment across partner sites.

The position involves covering lessons, supporting students with prepared work, and maintaining an inclusive classroom atmosphere. The ideal candidate will foster positive relationships and contribute to a structured, respectful learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Covering lessons for absent or unavailable teaching staff, and assisting students in different classes with prepared work.
• Foster a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment, maintaining a calm, respectful, and purposeful atmosphere while building strong and trusting relationships with students.
• Clearly explain tasks to students, ensuring their understanding and providing guidance and support throughout the lesson. Keep students engaged, offer encouragement, and provide constructive feedback to ensure tasks are completed to a high standard.
• Maintain thorough records of student behaviour, both positive and negative, and administer appropriate disciplinary measures when needed.

We have recently engaged with a multi-academy trust to assist in their staffing, so recruitment for this role is ongoing across their sites.

Our partner school in Gateshead is on the lookout for a Cover Supervisor to join their team in the coming weeks. This is a brilliant opportunity to gain experience with children in a school-based setting.

Your Role As a Cover Supervisor:

• Covering lessons for absent or unavailable teaching staff, and assisting students in different classes with prepared work.
