Job Title: Cover Supervisor

Location: Colchester

Contract type: Full-time / long term

Salary Scale: £85-£130 per day

Start Date: Immediately

We have schools in Colchester that are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated cover supervisor to join their welcoming team. Whether you're an aspiring teacher, a recent graduate, or someone with experience working with young people, this role will give you invaluable classroom experience while making a difference in students' education.

The Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing classes of students in the absence of their regular teacher, ensuring that the students remain on task and focused while following pre-prepared lesson plans. You will play an important role in maintaining classroom discipline and supporting students' learning needs, ensuring they are engaged in their studies in a productive and positive manner.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supervise and manage students during lessons in the absence of the regular teacher.
2. Ensure that students follow instructions and engage with the lesson material.
3. Maintain classroom discipline and manage behaviour in accordance with school policies.
4. Provide support to students with additional learning needs.
5. Report any issues or concerns regarding students' behaviour or progress to the relevant teaching staff.
6. Assist with administrative duties such as taking registers and assisting with resources.
7. Inspire the students to reach their full potential.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

We are looking for someone who is confident, reliable, and passionate about supporting young people. The ideal candidate will have:

1. Previous experience working with children or young people ideally in an educational or supportive environment.
2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
3. A proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving.
