GSL Education are currently looking to appoint a motivated and reliable Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming school in Chesterfield. This is a great opportunity for future educators or those looking to gain hands-on school experience.

Role Overview:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing classes during teacher absences, ensuring pupils remain focused and complete the work provided. Your main aim will be to create a positive and orderly learning atmosphere, supporting pupils' progress in the absence of their regular teacher.

Your Responsibilities as a Cover Supervisor:

  • Supervise classroom activities and keep learners focused during the teacher’s absence.
  • Present pre-set learning materials and help where required.
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with school behaviour guidelines.
  • Build constructive relationships with students and assist their learning progress.
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff on student engagement and any concerns.

Requirements for Cover Supervisor:

  • Previous experience working with young people in a school or similar setting is desirable.
  • Confidence, flexibility, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain order and promote positive behaviour.
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A CV covering the last 10 years, with any gaps clearly explained.
