Position: Cover Supervisor - Make a Difference!
Location: Blackpool and surrounding areas
Salary: £90 - £110 per day
Contract Type: Full-Time/Part-Time

Vida Education is seeking passionate and motivated individuals to join our team as Cover Supervisors in secondary schools across Blackpool and surrounding areas. We offer day-to-day, short-term, and long-term cover supervisor work, with flexibility to suit your availability and ongoing needs.

WHAT IS A COVER SUPERVISOR?

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise secondary pupils (aged 11-16) in the absence of their regular teacher, delivering pre-set lessons across various subjects. You will manage classroom behaviour, ensuring students remain focused in a safe and productive learning environment.

COVER SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

1. Delivering work that has been pre-set by the class teacher.
2. Managing the behaviour of pupils following the school behaviour policies to ensure they are kept on track with the pre-set work.
3. Responding to any questions from pupils during the lesson.
4. Reporting back any issues using the school's policies on the behaviour of pupils during the class and any issues arising.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

1. Strong communication skills and a friendly, approachable attitude.
2. Calm, organised and confident in managing classroom behaviour effectively.
3. Experience working with children is desirable but not essential; we offer full training.
4. A desire to work in education and support students' growth.

WE PROVIDE FREE COVER SUPERVISOR TRAINING:

Since 2015, we've been offering high-quality Cover Supervisor training, with many of our team members progressing to successful teaching careers. Our training includes:

1. How to confidently manage behaviour in a classroom.
2. How to deliver a successful lesson and deal with any issues that might arise.
3. Emphasis on safeguarding, covering both safeguarding of pupils and yourself as a cover supervisor.

YOU WILL NEED TO:

1. Have UK Right to Work status.
2. Hold a degree qualification or equivalent.
3. Have high expectations of student achievement and behaviour.
4. Complete a registration with Vida Education which includes holding a current Enhanced DBS registered with the DBS Update Service, or be prepared to apply for a new ENHANCED DBS.
