Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to work in a Cardiff area school. The strongest applicant will be confident delivering support across Mathematics, English and another subject while maintaining strong behaviour management with secondary pupils.

• Confidence delivering support across Mathematics and English and another subject.
• Experience working with secondary school pupils is preferred.
• Up-to-date safeguarding training is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Cover classes when teachers are absent and ensure students stay on task.
• Supervise pupils and ensure tasks are completed during lessons and transitions.
• Help maintain positive classroom behaviour and support teacher objectives.

About role

Prospero are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to work within a school in the Cardiff area. The strongest applicant will have confidence in Mathematics, English and a subject of their choice whilst also working well with secondary school aged pupils and providing good behaviour management.

As a Cover Supervisor you will work in secondary schools covering classes and ensuring students are working on tasks whilst teachers are absent or engaged in other activities and meetings. This is a key role within secondary schools and almost every secondary school will engage cover supervisors to allow teachers.

This is great opportunity to work on flexible basis and gain experience within secondary schools.

Cover Supervisors are required for the full school day 8.30am to 3.45pm (approx.)

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Teaching Assistant qualification or higher/equivalent (Desirable)
• Previous experience working with young people.
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as some training is provided)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
• Provide two professional references.
