Full-Time Cover Supervisor - Secondary School near Totton, Southampton

Start Date: October 2025

Contract: Full-time, fixed-term until July 2026 (with potential to go permanent)

Salary: £100 - £120 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in the smooth running of the school day by stepping in to deliver pre-prepared lessons in the absence of the class teacher. Your focus will be on maintaining a calm, purposeful classroom environment, ensuring students complete the work set, and upholding the school\'s behaviour standards.

This is a varied role, with supervision across different year groups and subjects, including regular responsibilities within Physical Education (PE). While lesson planning and marking are not required, you will be expected to manage classrooms confidently and contribute positively to the wider school community.

  • Deliver set lesson content to classes across a range of subjects.
  • Manage classroom behaviour and promote a focused learning environment.
  • Support students with their work, offering clarification when needed.
  • Supervise PE lessons as part of your weekly timetable.
