Cover for Secondary School – Gosport, Hampshire
Start Date: Immediate | Contract Type: Full-Time, Adhoc basis
Salary: £90 – £140 per day (Depending on experience)

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in schools?

GSL Education are looking for enthusiastic Cover Teachers/ Cover Supervisors to join secondary mainstream schools in Gosport on a full-time, adhoc basis starting immediately. This role is perfect for teachers looking for flexibility or students eager to gain experience in an educational setting.

In this position, you will deliver lessons and supervise classes in the absence of permanent teaching staff, ensuring that students remain engaged, focused, and supported throughout the day. You will work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to maintain high standards of learning and behaviour.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver planned lessons and cover classes effectively
• Supervise and manage pupils to ensure a productive learning environment
• Support individual pupils or small groups as required
• Monitor pupil engagement, behaviour, and progress
• Maintain classroom discipline and encourage positive conduct
• Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures
• Assist with preparation and organisation of classroom resources
• Communicate effectively with teaching and support staff

Requirements:

• Previous classroom experience in a secondary school desirable
• UK teaching qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to manage a class and ensure positive learning outcomes
• Flexible, adaptable, and confident in covering multiple subjects or year groups
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
• Enhanced DBS registered on the update service, or willingness to apply via GSL Education
