Now Hiring: Cover Co-ordinator – Secondary School | Solihull

Location: Solihull
Contract: Term-time only, 15 Hours Per-week (7:30am-10:30am)
Salary: Local Authority Band C
️ DBS Check: Enhanced required

Balfour Recruitment is working on behalf of a welcoming and high-achieving secondary school in Solihull to recruit a highly organised and proactive Cover Co-ordinator. This vital role ensures smooth daily operations by coordinating staff absence cover — keeping lessons running and students learning!

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Arrange daily cover for planned & unplanned staff absences (sickness, training, trips, etc.).

  • Liaise with SLT, internal staff, and external supply agencies.

  • Ensure safeguarding compliance (e.g. DBS checks, ID verification).

  • Meet & greet supply staff, providing schedules, school policies, and classroom directions.

  • Maintain accurate records including daily cover sheets & monthly cost reports.

  • Negotiate rates with agencies and ensure high-quality supply staff are booked.

  • Provide occasional admin support in the school office when required.
