Job summary

Caritas Recruitment is seeking an experienced Children's Social Worker to join Torbay Council's Court Team in Torbay, Devon, on a long-term agency contract. This Court Social Worker role focuses on Public Law proceedings, care proceedings and complex safeguarding, with hybrid working and office attendance in Torbay up to three days a week.

Rate is up to £45 per hour with a £150 accommodation allowance; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Be a Social Work England registered Social Worker.
• 3 years post-qualifying experience in direct employment with an English local authority.
• Substantial Children's Services experience.
• Experience of court proceedings, safeguarding and complex case management.
• Not have left a permanent Children's Social Work role within the previous 6 months in SW region.
• Able to attend the Torbay office weekly and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Work with children and families where concerns are in Public Law proceedings.
• Manage complex cases and ensure plans progress through court.
• Provide high-quality assessments and court statements.
• Collaborate with multi-agency partners and give evidence in court.
