Torbay Council seeks an experienced Team Manager (Social Work Qualified) to lead the Cared For Team within Children’s Services. The role centers on safeguarding, permanence, and improving outcomes for children and young people, with strong leadership and a commitment to best practice.

Based in Torquay, the post supports hybrid working with 2 office days per week and offers a competitive salary of £56,090–£59,332 per year, including a market supplement.

Qualifications

• Current Social Work England registration.
• Degree or equivalent and licence to practice.
• Management qualification at certificate level or equivalent.
• Significant management experience with children and families.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Cared For Team and ensure high-quality practice.
• Oversee practice, performance and permanency planning.
• Champion relationship-based and restorative approaches and collaborate with partners.
• Support and develop staff through coaching, supervision and appraisal.
