Our client is a well-established, full-service law firm. The Court of Protection team has an excellent reputation and handles Deputy/COP, Local Authority, and family/carer instructions.

In this role, you will work on a variety of cases assisting with the affairs of individuals who have lost capacity due to brain injuries, mental health issues, dementia, and other degenerative illnesses.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Applications to the Court of Protection to become a deputy
  • Statutory Wills and Gift Applications
  • Employment and management of carers
  • Investment and fund management
  • Managing day-to-day finances, including payments, insurance, and care costs
  • Preparing annual reports, accounts, and tax returns
  • Purchasing and adapting homes for incapacitated persons
  • Making statutory wills for incapacitated individuals
