About the Role

This role is crucial to the success of students and focuses on ensuring that the Personal Development, Behaviours, and Attitudes demonstrated by students enable them to achieve their educational and career goals in a supportive environment.

The postholder will deliver well-planned tutorial sessions in both group and one-to-one settings, equipping students with essential skills, knowledge, and approaches for work and daily life, supported by a comprehensive wraparound care system.

Additionally, the successful applicant will serve as a Designated Safeguarding Officer, supporting Looked After and Care Experienced students, students with EHCP or SEND needs, and those accessing Additional Learning Support.

This position is a key part of the Printworks Campus PDBA team, contributing to the ongoing innovation and development of the service.

What You Will Do

  1. Deliver key PDBA topics to students, including planning and preparation.
  2. Coordinate with internal and external colleagues to support students throughout their journey.
  3. Work with the School of Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure policy adherence, monitor attendance and punctuality, manage At Risk students, and respond to urgent support needs.
  4. Develop, improve, and monitor services in collaboration with the Printworks Campus PDBA team.

About You

  • Hold a Level 5 Teaching Qualification (e.g., Cert Ed, PGCE) or be willing to work towards it.
  • Possess a relevant vocational qualification or degree in the teaching subject.
  • Be a student-focused team player capable of managing a pivotal role in student success.
  • Have the aptitude to assess evolving situations and make balanced decisions using Restorative Practice and Positive Regard principles.
  • Be collaborative, professional, and effective, working with others to achieve optimal outcomes.
