Overview:

First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with a renowned International Defence company to recruit a Course Designer (Military Weapons) on a permanent basis, based overseas in Lyneham.

As a Course Designer, you will be part of a talented team of training professionals with diverse technical backgrounds, designing, developing, and supporting courses. The team emphasizes modern training techniques and the latest learning technologies, including classroom and practical outdoor training, integrated with a new e-learning system and Virtual Learning Environment for 24/7 trainee access.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Armaments Courses, ranging from basic rifles and pistols to complex heavy weapons systems like the 155mm on the AS90 tracked artillery or the 120mm on the Challenger 2 Main Battle Tank. You will also work on weapon training supporting the academic and management courses at the REME Arms School.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Design and develop training courses based on Training Objectives (TOs) provided by the client.
2. Create controlled Course Training Package (CTP) documents for equipment and career courses, primarily in armaments/weapons.
3. Review and improve existing training materials for efficiency and effectiveness.
4. Develop and assess précis, examinations, and assessment packages.
5. Deliver pilot courses alongside instructors, when necessary.
6. Evaluate the suitability of e-learning content.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Ability to research new subjects and develop new training materials for précis, assessments, and projects.
• Commitment to personal development to stay updated with technological advancements.
• HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
• Instructional qualification with experience in a similar role.

Additional Details:

Location: Lyneham

Salary: £39,000 – £43,000

Working Hours: 37 hours per week
