Job summary

Countryside Classroom in Guildford is seeking a Countryside Capital Programme Officer to lead a diverse programme of countryside capital projects across public rights of way. You will manage contracts, secure external funding and collaborate with councils, landowners and partner organisations to deliver safe, accessible improvements.

The role requires strong project management, budgeting and IT skills, with occasional weekend/evening work and travel across the county.

Qualifications

• Experience in delivering infrastructure or capital projects.
• Ability to manage multiple projects to budget and schedule.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a programme of countryside capital projects from concept through to completion.
• Manage contractors and works to ensure safety, timeliness and budget adherence.
• Identify opportunities to improve accessibility and resilience across the rights of way network.
• Prepare funding bids and secure external investment for improvements.
• Build relationships with teams, councillors, landowners and stakeholders.
