The role of the Assistant Accountant is to support with the preparation of monthly accounting entries, manage monthly corporate credit card reconciliation, monthly balance sheet reconciliation and work with a continuous improvement mindset to identify and implement process improvement.

Key Accountabilities

1. Preparation of month end accounting entries for CRG entities
2. Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigation of variances in a timely manner
3. Liaise with the Commercial Finance team to ensure month end postings are complete
4. Review accuracy of accruals and assist in the preparation of the monthly P&L
5. Assist in the preparation of monthly consolidated reports and board packs
6. Understand risk and opportunities on the balance sheet
7. Assist external auditors to complete their annual audit process on time
8. Assist in the preparation of annual statutory accounts for CRG entities
9. Preparation of Wholesale related journals and reconciliations
10. Preparation of ABS surveys
11. Ad hoc reports / duties as required

Key Capabilities

1. Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Business or related
2. Experience using Oracle, exposure to Futura / Magenta POS advantageous but not essential
3. Stakeholder management, strong communication skills written and verbal
4. Exceptional attention to detail and eye for process improvement
5. Previous experience in retail or similar industry is highly desirable
6. A team player who enjoys collaborating with others
