Job summary

CDI - Russell Taylor is recruiting for an experienced Counterbalance Forklift operator to join a busy site in Skelmersdale. Salary £14–£15.50 per hour with shifts 07:00-15:00 and 15:00-23:00, Monday to Friday.

You will handle aluminium or steel stock and support goods-in and dispatch processes in a fast-paced warehouse. We require a valid in-date counterbalance licence, proven forklift experience, and a strong focus on health and safety.

Qualifications

• Valid and in-date counterbalance forklift licence.
• Proven experience operating a counterbalance FLT in a busy environment.
• Experience handling aluminium, steel, or heavy materials (desirable).
• Good awareness of health and safety practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Operate a counterbalance forklift truck safely and efficiently.
• Load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse or yard.
• Handle long, heavy, or awkward loads such as aluminium or steel stock.
• Ensure goods are stored correctly and safely.
• Assist with goods-in and dispatch operations.
• Carry out routine vehicle checks and report defects.
• Maintain a clean and organised working environment.
• Follow all health & safety procedures at all times.
