About The Role

Place2Be is seeking Counsellors on Placement to provide emotional and therapeutic support to children and young people aged 4-18 in partner schools across the North East. Applicants should review the Placement Map to confirm their ability to travel to the schools listed. Please mention your preferred schools in your application; note that this does not guarantee placement in those schools.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing one-to-one counselling to children, working at least one day per week.
  • Participating in regular supervision, training workshops, and induction programs.
  • Completing placement during term time for up to one academic year, with potential for extension.
  • Attending workshops for professional development, recognized for CPD hours.
  • Gaining clinical hours applicable towards professional accreditation, acknowledged by BACP and UKCP.

We support career progression, with many staff starting as placement counsellors. Opportunities are available in primary and secondary schools nationwide.

Counting your hours

All clinical hours can contribute towards accreditation. Check with your course tutor regarding acceptance of child hours. If not accepted, you may consider a second placement.

About You
