About The Role

Thank you for your interest in a Counselling Placement at a Place2Be partner school! We are recruiting for September 2024 Counsellors in North West London. Please view the placement map: Placement Map. Not all schools will have placements available, but we will do our best to match you to a convenient location.

Counsellors on Placement provide emotional and therapeutic support to children and young people aged 4-18 in partner schools. Our organisation adheres to the BACP ethical framework, and counsellors are dedicated to improving mental health and well-being.

• We offer regular supervision, tailored training workshops, and a well-recognised clinical placement.
• Comprehensive induction and daily clinical supervision are provided.
• Availability of at least one day per week is required to work with up to 3 children in one-to-one counselling sessions.
• Placements run during term time for one academic year, with opportunities for extension.
• Attend up to six workshops per year, recognised as CPD time.
• Sessions count towards professional accreditation hours with BACP and UKCP.
• Many of our clinical staff started as Placement Counsellors.
• Opportunities available in primary and secondary schools nationwide.

Counting your hours

Clinical hours gained can be used towards accreditation; please confirm with your course tutor if child hours are accepted.

About You

You should be a fully qualified Counsellor, Therapist, or Clinical Psychologist, or studying towards one, at the following levels:

• Diploma in Counselling (Level 4 or above), or a full academic year Certificate Course in Counselling.
• Degree, MSc, or MA in Counselling, Counselling Psychology, or Psychotherapy, with relevant experience if in the first year.
