21 hours a week (over three days) over 40 weeks per year, term time only.

As a pivotal part of the frontline team, the Counsellor & Wellbeing Adviser will support students' mental health and wellbeing through individual and group counselling, workshops, and drop-in services. Collaborating with the College's support services, the post holder ensures a holistic approach to wellbeing. Responsibilities include maintaining confidential records, adhering to safeguarding policies, and engaging in continuous professional development.
The role requires a registered professional with substantial counselling experience, particularly with children and young people, along with strong empathy, communication, and caseload management skills.
Our ideal candidate will hold a qualification in Counselling at Diploma Level or higher and be a member of an ethical body, such as BACP, UKCP, or NCS. You should have significant understanding and experience in providing professional Wellbeing Support services, especially with children and young people, and possess strong empathy, communication, and caseload management skills.
You should be able to work well independently and in a team, with a good understanding of the safeguarding process, external support agencies, data protection regulations, crisis management, and referral procedures related to safety planning, risk assessment, and information sharing. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
The successful candidate will be eligible for any salary increase resulting from the annual cost of living review that will be implemented in the new academic year.
