Overview

bMindful Psychology are currently recruiting a Counselling Psychologist support our clients in the North East region. We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team, providing vital psychological support to children and young people.

Responsibilities
  • Provide psychological assessments and evidence-based interventions to children and young people in care or at risk of entering care.
  • Deliver therapeutic support tailored to individual needs.
  • Offer consultation and guidance to foster carers, residential staff, and professionals on managing challenging behaviours and promoting emotional wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop care plans that support psychological resilience and recovery.
  • Contribute to training and workshops for professionals to enhance understanding of trauma, attachment, and mental health.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for care planning and statutory requirements.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Registered with the appropriate professional body as a Practitioner Psychologist.
  • Experienced in working with children and young people, particularly those who have experienced trauma or are in care.
  • Knowledgeable about trauma-informed approaches, attachment theory, and child development.
  • Skilled in delivering therapeutic interventions for complex emotional and behavioural needs.
  • An effective communicator who can build trusting relationships with children, families, and professionals.
  • Passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.
