Our Client is expanding in three sites across the UK and actively recruiting for an experienced Costs professional to join our growing Manchester team. They have a knowledgeable team of Costs Lawyers and consultants which boast more than 100 years of collective experience in this highly-specialist field, especially in the clinical negligence and personal injury sector. They are proud of our first-rate knowledge of costs issues and can quickly turnaround costs budgets.

The ideal candidate would be an experienced bill or budget drafter who is skilled in preparing detailed costs pleadings, such as bills of costs and Precedent H budgets.

Reporting to the Head in the North West, this remote role involves regular collaboration with solicitors from claimant law firms to effectively manage a wide range of costs matters.

The successful individual will understand procedural rules, case law and the formatting standards required when submitting documents to court. Day-to-day tasks will include preparing bills of costs and costs budgets.

Experience & qualifications required

  • Proficient in costs management claims – clinical negligence & personal injury
  • Relevant legal qualifications – Costs Lawyer or equivalent experience
  • Experience with complex cost litigation and detailed assessment hearings
  • Strong skills in drafting of legal costs documentation
  • Experience in preparing bills of costs and costs budgets
  • Legal research skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and remotely
