Costs Draftsman – Junior to Associate Level

London or Remote | Full-Time | Competitive Salary

A highly respected boutique costs law firm is looking to add a Costs Draftsman to its growing team. Whether you’re just starting out in your career or already working at associate level, this is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist firm known for its expertise, long-standing client relationships, and collaborative culture.

You’ll work closely with a team of seasoned professionals across a range of high-profile, often complex litigation matters – including commercial disputes, group actions, and regulatory cases.

What you’ll be doing:

• Drafting bills of costs (inter partes and legal aid)

• Preparing budgets and budget discussion documents

• Reviewing and analysing legal costs

• Supporting the team on points of dispute and replies

• Assisting with negotiations and preparing for assessments where appropriate

• Working closely with clients to ensure timely, accurate costings

What they’re looking for:

• Some experience as a Costs Draftsman, whether junior or more established

• Strong written and numerical skills

• Familiarity with costs software (e.g., CostsMaster or similar)

• Enthusiasm to develop within a friendly, highly knowledgeable team

• Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
