Job summary

Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Costing Accountant to support financial ad–hoc analysis, including costing of services and bids. You will work within the Trust’s small, supportive finance team and assist in producing costing information for internal and external use.

Ideal candidates will have strong Excel skills, knowledge of NHS costing principles such as PLICS, and an interest in developing broader financial analysis capabilities within NHS finance.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths at level 6 or equivalent and GCSE English at level 4 or equivalent.
  • Desirable professional study towards AAT level 4 or CCAB or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with costing of services including PLICS and Service Line Costing.
  • Support costing submissions for internal and external use including National Cost Collection.
  • Model activity and workforce plans to enable costing and understanding of risks.
  • Develop costs, budgets and prices for both short and long term across the Trust.
  • Develop Mental Health contract currencies through patient level and service line costs.
  • Maintenance and development of the Trust's Costing System.

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Trust's Commercial, Planning and Costing team for for a Costing Accountant .

The Costing Accountant will assist with the provision of financial advice, information, costings and provide support to commercial opportunities, including responding to tenders for services and acquisitions.

The post holder will have good IT skills and be proficient in the use of Excel. You should have a knowledge of costing principles and have experience of working in a finance environment. Whilst NHS finance experience is not necessary, you should have a knowledge of the NHS finance regime and awareness of current NHS issues.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop new skills and broaden your finance knowledge and experience within a small and supportive team
